GREAT GIFT IDEA
A great heirloom gift to pass on to future generations!!! A treasured gift for any young girl to have for many years to come. Design the doll to resemble the child - use the same hair color, skin tone, with or without glasses, and order the fabric in whatever they are interested in to be on the girl's skirt or the boy's shirt. The boy can wear bib overalls, pants or jeans with belt loops/rope belt (jeans are extra cost).
Send me the material from an old wedding dress, favorite grandfather's shirt, or baby's special blanket (must be light weight) to use for the doll's skirt or shirt.

- What are hand-made dolls?
"Hand-made" means the doll is hand-stitched. All body parts are sewn together by machine except for the: face features, the arms attached to the body, and the sewn-on "hair" (the yarn). Since the arms are hand sewn to the body by hand (and glued for strength), I recommend NOT to swing the doll around by the arms. The eyes are "goggle" eyes or sewn-on eyes.
- What age group are the dolls for?
For ALL ages! This is a great gift for new borns and young children but use the doll as a "display doll" and I recommand using the "sewn-on" eyes until the child reaches age 7. The doll can match a child's bedroom curtins using the same colors in their bedroom, and nicely displayed on the dresser or shelf until the child is older to play with it. Or give the doll to a high school band or cheerleader Senior who is graduating, and have their name monogrammed on it. Or give the doll to your grandmother made up as a "grandmother" doll and display in her rocking chair or on top/inside an old fashion kitchen cupboard with her name on it.
- Does your price vary from a "regular" rag doll to a "custom-made" doll?
Yes. A REGULAR rag doll is using the material I have on hand, with no traveling expenses for a particular fabric ($35.00). A CUSTOM-MADE rag doll is made to your specifications and using a certain printed fabric color/pattern you want ($45-$50). A UNIFORM rag doll takes more time to do than the other rag dolls. I must design the uniform, logo, design a hat, etc. ($50-$55).
- Is there a discount if I order more than one doll at one time?
Yes, but only if ordering 10 or more dolls during one transaction.
- What are the "extra" costs on the dolls?
"Extras" are additional fee on the price of your doll. Example: eyeglasses, long hair (takes more yarn), logo (takes more time to design), fancy lace, extra ribbon, fancy signature buttons, decorative buttons, pearl necklace, monogram name, etc. The shipping fee is also an extra cost if mailed out.
- What is the best way to describe my custom-made doll order to you?
Submit your order on the "Contact" tab. For a logo or to use a specific color, send me a picture via email to me at wads@zoominternet.net as an attachment ALONG WITH a written description of the color (in case the picture is not clear).
- Can the customer pick up the doll to save on shipping fees?
Yes. If you wish to travel to California, PA, to pick it up, it will be free. Please call to make prior arrangements.
- Can the customer pick up their own fabric?
Yes, you can purchase your own fabric. Unfortunatly, I cannot give you a discount off the price of the doll. I am still putting in the same amount of sewing time in making the doll.
- What do you mean by a "uniform" doll?
A uniform doll is time-consuming to make the outfit. It may have 3 or 4 pieces/attachments to it, changing different color threads, design work, etc. Example: suit/coat with matching pants or skirt or hat, some have matching panties with the uniform (cheerleader). Some uniform dolls are: Army, Navy, Cheerleader, Band. Anything more will be "extras" like hat, cape, sash, extra ribbons, special buttons, etc.
- Can I request a change in the face features?
Yes, with some exceptions. It depends on what the changes are. One example could be to replace the "google" eyes with sewn-on eyes. This is recommended for young children. All faces have the "smile" mouth. I can add the "heart" lips to the mouth if you request it.
- What is the time frame when ordering a doll?
Please give at least 2-3 weeks advance notice. Due to many on-going orders, I take them in the order in which I receive them.
- Can you alter the body size of the doll?
Yes. I can shorten the body, arms and legs a little for a smaller doll. This must be specified on your original order at the beginning. Unfortunately, I cannot give you a discount on the price of the doll.
- Can I request a certain kind of shoe?
A particular kind of shoe can be very difficult to find. ALL shoes are up to the seamstress. All dolls come with shoes trying to match the uniform or costume in the best way I can. If you wish to have a different kind of shoe other than what it comes with, you can purchase your own doll's shoes but the doll still comes with "some" type of shoe (my price remains the same). The shoes are size 3 in baby shoes, if you want to purchase them yourself. I try to pick shoes under $4.00 is why the price of my dolls are kept at a reasonable price.
- Can the monogramming come in different size letters?
No. My sewing machine uses one size font and style of letters, but can use capital letters and/or lower case letters.
- Could I use regular baby clothes on the dolls?
Yes. The doll can use New Born or Size 0-3 months baby clothes. My dolls still comes with the "body" shirt and a skirt or pants, at a regular doll price with no particular colors in mind ($35.00).
- In making a cheerleader/band menber to match school colors, what is the best way to match up the uniform colors?
Send me an attached colored photo to my email address: wads@zoominternet.net and describe the "type" of color you want in the best way you can. There are many different shades of blues, greens, reds, etc., so please be specific as possbile and send me a colored photo as an attachment is the best way.
- Can you match the doll's skirt to a little girl's skirt?
YES! I will get more fabric of the same print. I need the measurements of the girl's waist and length you want. The girl's skirt will be a plain skirt using velcro (no zippers) to be cheaper.
- Can you make a "family" of dolls?
Yes! The "parent" can be the regular size dolls (26" tall), and the "children" can be a shorter size doll. Please specify on clothes, and type of hair you would like on the doll.
- Can you sew on an authnetic emblem on the doll?
Yes, you purchase the authnetic emblem and I will sew it on it's uniform.
